HM Planned Trips

Just a quick post, but here are some trips (in-country) I'd like to complete this year:

- "Land of Oz" abandoned theme park in North Carolina
- Bahamas 
- Grand Canyon
- The Mojave (To include Goodsprings, ghost town)
- Hotel Del
- Winchester Mystery House (San Jose, CA) 
- Hawaii, HI ... gotta see them waterfalls

 I really want to find some good hiking spots around the US. Caves/canyons/mountains/places to take good photos interest me the most! If you have a suggestion, please share. I want to make the best out of this year (and maybe do some races along the way!).

The Hotel at the End of Time

  This is the first installment of the Hotel series and my first read from this author. I am hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's ability to mix suspense and humor without skipping a beat. I wouldn't necessarily categorize this as a horror, but it was thrilling! The main characters were a pleasure to follow, each unique and fleshed out. The villain was interesting and posed an adequate challenge, keeping the story engaging and fun. I enjoyed the plot and all its turns. Some of the character actions seemed unusual and irrational. That occasionally took me out of the story. I also wouldn't call this so much a "horror" story as a fantasy, but it was still enjoyable and something I would like to follow. The Liar of Red Valley

  If you're looking for a book that dives into generational obligations (and some might say curses), with a lot of spooky aspects and a bit of mystery, this is the book for you. There's significant plot twits and fit well with the story and pace. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. The main character is quick witted and strong willed, a pleasure to read. Each character had a unique personality that felt natural within this world. I was drawn in from the first sentence and managed to finish this in just over 2 days. Returning with some Reads

 It's been some time since I've posted on this blog, but I think I'm going to bring it back. I figure I would use this space for book reviews, as I've been using my private Instagram to do it thus far.
